Current Project – Cob Caterpiller Bench

We are putting the finishing touches on a wonderful 20-foot long cob bench in the shape of a caterpillar. Located on the grounds of Brentwood Elementary School in Austin, Texas, this earthen bench was built by lots of volunteers, including the school kids. Several local businesses generously donated materials and/or skills, and at least four Austin artists added their creativity to the endeavor.

Current Project – Cob Cottage

Design~Build~Live has been conducting workshops and work sessions to build a 200 square foot cottage and permaculture landscape at an existing 1930′s homestead in the Rosedale area of Austin, Texas. Our first workshop began the sculpting of the landscape to create rain gardens, our second workshop built the rubble trench foundation for the cottage, and then we started on the cob walls.
